HOW IT BEGAN

Katie and Craig Hurst adopted 3 children with significant special needs from China. Having contact with many families who wanted a form of support, Katie founded a support group online for adoptive moms. The group grew to hundreds of moms who were thankful for a safe place to share their needs. Through this group Katie saw firsthand the need for a unique system of support for families after adoption. She spoke with many families who were enduring a level of trauma with absolutely no support system to guide them into healing emotionally, medically and financially.

Through a series of unique events the Hurst family became widely connected with people from all walks of life who wanted to support families like theirs. There was a particularly unique and large connection to the Chinese community. It was this community that planted a mustard seed of hope that God would do something new and miraculous for adoptive families.

2020 was a hard year. 2020 was the worst in so many ways, but in the middle of that God was still moving and working. Our Father’s Diadem was formed in order to bring people together to support adoptive families.

Testimonials

From an Adoptive Family

During the week of Christmas, everything seemed to break all at once. When you have a large family, the last thing you can afford to lose is your washing machine. As soon as friends at Our Fathers Diadem heard of our struggle, they immediately surprised us and ordered a new washer to be picked up at Lowe's. It completely saved my sanity, and made the Christmas season so much more special. This is a wonderful ministry that seeks to lift burdens. ❤️

From an Adoptive Family

During this season of life, having a large family with young children, the pandemic costing one of our incomes some of our household repairs had starting slipping through the cracks. Our Fathers Diadem coming along side us and taking one of those burdens off our plate was such a sweet blessing! Our daughters room has a new ceiling fan and light because of their help. We are thankful!
